Dr Charles Dick is renowned for providing personalised orthopaedic care and as an advocate for medical education. He uses advanced technology including the use of patient customised 3D printed guides for the insertion of shoulder and knee replacements.

Dr Charles Dick is accredited at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, Noosa Private Hospital and Buderim Private Hospital, and holds a consultant position at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He is also a training supervisor to the advanced trainees of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

Dr Charles Dick was born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland and graduated from The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, one of the best medical schools in the UK, in 2000. During his surgical training with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he worked as an anatomy demonstrator and lecturer at the University of Leeds.

After being awarded a Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons England in 2006, he emigrated to Australia to be with his wife, who is an anaesthetist from the Sunshine Coast. He completed further orthopaedic training with the Queensland advanced orthopaedic training programme and was awarded his Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015. Dr Charles Dick is also a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

Local Life

Dr Dick lives on the Sunshine Coast with his wife and two children and actively enjoys the healthy lifestyle that the Coast provides. In the past, he was a keen rugby player. Dr Charles Dick played for the University of Queensland 1st XV and competed internationally. Currently, he enjoys completing triathlons, cycling and running. His other hobbies include fishing, camping and surfing. He has embraced the local community and lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast and understands the needs and expectations of the people living here.
